When I first started at ADI I was tasked with keeping up with the numerous HTML and OFT email requests. These came in the form of periodicals, invites, nurtures, and a few special notices. As I was the only designer who had a fair bit of experience with HTML coding , I took on the role as manager for the email program. With branding guidelines set by the lead designer, I was able to build out our various templates and graphical element libraries to produce beautiful emails that were read by hundreds of thousands. In 2018, ADI went through a substantial rebranding and I directed my team in the development of a new set of design standards for our emails while utilizing the current table layout of the original emails. Over the years we had worked with Eloqua and at the start of 2020 we moved our entire system over to Adobe Campaign Standard to blast our emails. Both had their own particular quirks. It was a constant battle to develop code that would render properly across platforms, while emphasizing proper rendering in Outlook on windows machines, as our analytics showed us that this was how our emails were primarily viewed. I kept up to date on how to best apply styling with the highest success rate and the least amount of errors.
I taught every member of the team how to code, design, prepare emails, and communicate with our clients. I would often work directly with clients, bouncing ideas off of them in real time to further the design and break out of design ruts. Many of our clients were engineers who needed a face to face meeting to fully understand how best to communicate their ideas and present those ideas as part of our larger marketing scheme. My strong desire to communicate with clarity, simplicity, and beauty brought these pieces to life. My eye for detail and strong sense of urgency helped to get the best possible product out the door consistently and on time.
